Date and time:
Fri, 3rd Oct 2014 - 11:00am - 12:30pm
Room 4.55, Level 4, College of Business and Economics, Building 26C
Dr John Bryant

Applied demography produces some challenging and distinctive statistical problems. For instance, applied demographers often need to estimate and forecast thousands of cross-classified rates and counts, subject to complicated sets of constraints. The talk describes a long-term research program to bring these problems into a Bayesian statistical framework. The talk gives an overview of the framework, and presents some illustrative results.

Dr John Bryant is a Senior Researcher from Statistics New Zealand. He is PhD graduate from Demogarphy & Sociology Program (now ADSRI) at ANU.
